Baking During The Holiday Season
Over the weekend I found myself in Target which is a usual occurrence but this time I picked up a box of Betty Crocker Brownies. I was craving something sweet but fresh out the oven. And I am no made from scratch perfection just yet, but I love, love baking. I can't decorate just yet but I love baking. So any chance I get I will.
I remember when I first got my easy bake oven, you know the ones you had to put in the microwave. It was my favorite Christmas gift ever! I would always bake chocolate cake in it for my older brother and I, to share. [No wonder he married a baker. = D]
There are only a select few things I like in chocolate. Chocolate Pecan Pie, Fudge Brownies, and the occasional chocolate candy bar. I am not one of those must have chocolate people I guess. So on the rare occasion I want brownies these brownie mixes come in handy.
Plus they are a great way to get the kids in the kitchen and have some quality time with them, especially on rainy days. My younger but much taller cousin joined me in making these and since they were regular fudge brownies we added a few semi sweet chocolate chips just to add that extra little yummy taste.
There are so many things that we can do during the holidays and year round to keep family close.
What do you do with your family to stay indoors and spend more time together?
