Why Blogging?

Why I started blogging

So you are here, you are at my little piece of the world, where I can pretty much do whatever I want.  I have no boss to tell me what I can or cannot write.  I don't have to follow any rules (if I don't want to of course).  All that I have to do is be polite, and kind.  Which honestly is that asking too much?

You found me via some social media platform which if you did congrats I completely suck at this social media, SEO stuff still.  You would think I'd have my stuff together by my third blog right?  Nope, not even the slightest chance.  Or you are a friend or family member who was too interested or bored not to pass up.

I originally just loved reading blogs, seeing all the pretty things they buy, or the newest beauty trend.  Then I thought hmm I could totally do this, right?  I love going shopping, cooking (most of the time), eating (all of the time) and getting my make up done.  Oh and I unfortunately have a little thing called PCOS, which since I lost a fallopian tube pretty much requires a miracle, IVF or both to get pregnant.  You can read about that here, and here.

Another reason I decided to start blogging was because I needed something outside of my regular job, that inspired me to do more, and challenged me.  The only thing challenging me at my current job is the urge to fall asleep.  I know I am ready for a change, and I know I can do great things for a great company or even just become my own boss at my photography company.  I just wanted some instant gratification if that wasn't too much to ask.  I initially in all honesty wanted this place to vent but figured talking about being unhappy wasn't going to make me happy.

My husband hates social media until he wants to look up something about an athlete on my instagram or twitter.  I figured we would have kids soon and this would be a place I could write the goings on in our lives so that they would one day be able to read it.

I barely know much about coding and that is just fine with me so I currently use Squarespace which I love and you can find more about it here and here.  I feel like blogging has given me a little space in the world that is all my own where I can vent, live, and dine all at once.  It is mine and I can do whatever I please (legally) of course with it.

If you have ever thought about blogging or just writing a digital journal I recommend it completely.  And if you don't get it right on your first try don't give up try again.  I am completely and utterly in love with my current site and I think it totally reflects me and the things that I love.  But it took me three tries so don't give up.  It won't be easy, but the best things in life never are.
