When I arrived to the Vineyards of Waverly Manor according to Google maps, all I saw was an open field with a barren tree. I quickly took a picture and sent it to E saying, "hey, it says I have arrived to my destination". His response was "wtf?", I busted out laughing. There was literally nothing there, you know where Google Maps told me my destination was supposed to be.
Of course, in Texas there is no lack of land so I being a seasoned second shooter I knew that the venue was more than likely a little further up but Google maps obviously wasn't aware of this.
When I finally arrived there it was this big gorgeous traditional style white house, that you find only in southern based romance movies written by Nicholas Sparks. I swear I could literally imagine Ryan Gosling running out the front door. It is just breath taking and set back far enough into the country that makes it just perfect for a wedding.
But enough about the venue, let's talk about the couple.
As I stated before, I am just a second shooter on most of these beautiful weddings I have had the pleasure of being a part of so I don't get the opportunity to meet the couple before hand or even "break the ice" with my blooming personality. I normally get the guys and Stacy gets with the girls -- the bride is for obvious reason much more important than the groom.
I honestly lucked out with this group of fellas, the groom Christian was so nice and easy to work with. I have come to realize that if you let the guys have a beer or two prior to the photographer arriving they are so much more easier to work with. HINT, HINT ladies. Every moment of this wedding was filled with love and laughter, some on my part and some on the families part. The couple even coordinated a dance for their guest directly following the ceremony and introductions [you can see a few of those shots on Stacy's page linked below].
I also love these smaller, closer quarter ceremony/receptions because as a photographer you get to sit back and see all the love that is at the beginning of a beautiful new journey.
